Privacy Notice – Musacontacts database

This privacy notice is about the information we collect from you when you register to Musacontacts, a database that provides access to the contact details and areas of expertise of ProMusa members and other people working on banana. In collecting this information, we are acting as a data controller and, by law, we are required to provide you with information about us, about why and how we use your data, and about the rights you have over your data.

Who we are we

The Musacontacts database is managed by Bioversity International. Our address is Via dei Tre Denari 472/a, 00054, Fiumicino, Rome, Italy.

What we collect

We only collect the information about your professional identity that you volunteer. Beyond your name, email address and country of residence, it may include your nationality, areas of expertise, past work experience, diplomas, spoken language, and when applicable, information on your employer and current position.

Why we collect it

We collect this information to help you connect with other individuals who, like you, have experience and/or expertise on bananas. We need your email to allow you to manage your professional identity. This information is kept in the Musacontacts database.

What we do with it

Your personal data is processed by us. We use the TikiWiki CMS Groupware to manage the editing process. The Tiki Software Community Association is an incorporated non-profit entity with the goal to benefit and support the ongoing work and development of the Tiki software community. Your personal data is only stored by us on our TikiWiki installation and held with the utmost care and security. It is not shared with or sold to third parties.

How long we keep it

Your information is kept until you ask us to remove it from the database by sending an email to bioversity-ds-requests@cgiar.org.

What your rights are

You can ask us what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, by sending an email to bioversity-ds-requests@cgiar.org.

We are not required to have a data protection officer. If you have a complaint about how we handle your information, you can contact the Italian Data Protection Authority via their website at: http://www.garanteprivacy.it/web/guest/home_en.
