Describe past or present professional activities relevant to bananas:
My research has focused on the diversity of Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. cubense populations in Cuba, unraveling the race concept in Foc, and studying the role of alternate host in the epidemiology of FWB.I have screened Cuban banana germplasm for resistance to Foc and black Sigatoka. Additionally, I have participated as an instructor/lecturer in several Latin American workshops on FocTR4 diagnosis and prevention, including events in Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago, and Costa Rica.
